Less is more sometimes. I don't think there needs to be so much on there.

To be honest, the chains just look randomly placed and aren't adding anything to the sweater. To me, DIY is about garment improvement, not adding stuff for the sake of adding stuff. I don't see the chains and go "Hey wow! That's a good idea," but rather "What are those doing there?"

If you want to "dress up" the sweater, I'd recommend accessorizing yourself rather than the sweater. A cool longer big necklace, open vest or jacket, gloves, or a cool scarf would all bring a LOT more interest to the outfit than some pinned-on jewelry chains.

I was trying to make them look the same as to only have the accessories be a variable, but it's kind of hard when you're not able to copy and paste irl.

My latest costume/fashion. Classing it as fashion because I wanted the skirt for every day wear and I'm so happy with how it all came together. Best thing I've made in a long time!

Oooh wow. Was the pleating a pain in the ass? I guess having the lines in the plaid would help, but I've tried making a pleated skirt before and my pleats got all crooked.

Pleating was so much easier then usual because of the lines. I just had to line it up and iron it down, pin them down at at top and sew it. The only downside was it was such a light weight fabric that between rain and public transport it crinkled so easily. I ironed everything before I walked out the door though looking at photo's it doesn't look at at all.

It looks fine in the picture to me, but I know how that is. I have a skirt made out of some very thin vintage broadcloth. Seeing as the fabric is about 50 years old, there's no permanent press in it, so it just turns into a crumpled ball after a while.

Looks really good, especially the photography.
