I didn't see another thread for this already, so does anyone else here ever make their own clothes or accessories? I think it would be cool to share our handiwork here, give tips, or ask for help when you're stuck somewhere.

good thread.

Here's my most recent three, planning on glossing/waxing a pair of jeans this week as well. Not the greatest image quality, unfortunately.

Wow, that's cool that you do these changes yourself, Synthese.

For me, style is about spirit and attitude. My style is not about “age,” it’s about having a little fun, opting for a bit of glamour, and not taking yourself so seriously.

Synthese - Fuuun! I've been thinking I want to do something similar to some black jeans and then double dye them.

brad - Why would you feel like you're cheating?

At first I thought you meant you were going to try to gold-leaf them, which would be wicked next-level. I figure you mean bleach, though, you should go for it.

Tomorrow I'm going to go to urban outfitters, buy the cheapest, tightest jeans I can find, and then try to make glossy painted/waxed black jeans.

I'm currently working on a Lolita inspired dress which may be finished tonight.

But the favourite of mine so far is this skirt >D

Also, a dress I never finished.

Fabric painting? How exactly do you do that? Looks cool.

I really like the hair accessory.

Why does it feel like cheating? I don't know, really ... I just get this feeling like, "I'm cheaping out, I should spend time looking for what I need." Ridiculous, I know LOL

Retro - I sketched it out on the vest first with colored pencil and then went back in and painted it with silver fabric paint.

brad - I'm the opposite, I guess. I look at something and then go "but I could make that for $20" and feel like I'm wasting my education by buying clothes I know how to make.

Well, I am also not trained in making anything haha

be careful with waxing because if you buy too tight jeans and then wax them they won't fit at all.

Also, I wish I could make myself drop-crotch pants! Those bleached APCs are amazing..I remember seeing a WAYWT pic of them, and it didn't look like a DIY job, good shit.

wow, i agree [and also, woo, my first post out of introduction]
since there are no stores in my city that could provide me with japanese-styled clothes, i want to make them all by myself...
but i'm usually too lazy to start sewing anything, so it all ends in my sketchbook.
so far i've made bloomers, a few lolita skirts and one dress...
you guys did a wonderful job on all those things you made, i'm amazed!
i especially liked VisualRebellion's unfinished dress and skirt and Synthesis' shoes 8D

Made a hair accessory. It's amazing what you can get for $5 when you make it yourself.

That's incredible. I should have you make me a brooch or something.

brad - I'll do it! I just need to figure out the best way to ship something like that without it getting fucked in the mail.
