Sally's Trinity Godesses because today I made a look with the three "best" female designers that the store I work at is carrying.

[Image: rQ59p.jpg]

Top + Skirt: At the end of the season, it is quite hard to make a good outfit with what is left at the store; I need to pick pieces that have still at least one size more on the floor. Fortunately, most clients were clueless enough to not go home with these wonderful pieces by Vivienne Tam (which I urged Sally to carry because that collection had blown my mind in stark contrast to SS12, which is terrible) and Isabel de Pedro, a designer from Barcelona you can never, ever go wrong with. I am not sure if you can see well, but it is a mesh skirt. With some mechanism inside you can lengthen it to your ankles!

Jacket: My baby of Anna Sui's last season. I think the outfit looked better on its own because of the beautiful and intricate flared sleeves, but it's fucking freezing here so I wore it anyway. I thought the studs of the jacket would go really well with the touch of silver from the necklace and the shoes.

Shoes: I could have done better than these, but after hours of going in every god damn Montreal downtown shoe store yesterday with Brad to try and find a new pair of high heels, I went home empty handed, everything in store sucks right now. So yep, I would have worn cute high heeled leather oxfords or sweet ass high heeled Mary Janes instead if I had have the choice. Oh well, I still love the touch of silver from the buttons that fit with the other silver accents.

Tights: Picked to recall the embroidery from the Vivienne Tam top. I really wish I had thought of taking a detail of the flared embroidery sleeves to show the embroidery better :( Maybe I'll wear this again if clients remain clueless and I'll try it with a different pair of tights I think might work even better.

Sorry for the low quality level, the reason I haven't posted looks in so long is because I wouldn't bother to take low quality pics but I got sick of waiting to get my new iPhone, so I'll have to deal with it! Any tip to improve if one comes to your mind is welcome, and thank you for looking :)

Sorry to everyone for the picture quality, using Sally's iPhone since my camera was stolen last year :(

I do like this outfit but something about it doesn't feel quite fully baked, I'm not sure. Certainly it works better without the jacket, but it also feels unfinished. I'm not really sure what the missing details are. Maybe some black leather or something, there is a lot of matte black in this outfit and something shiny could offset it. Would like to see more experimentation with this top, which is amazing.

Also think these shoes aren't perfect for this outfit, hopefully we find your perfect black heels soon ...!

Thanks Brad! I think you are right, there is something missing: a bag! I should have thought about taking pictures with my Anna Sui leather bag, it would have added both the finishing touch we are looking for as well as the leather/shiny.

Love these tights so much!

I agree these shoes weren't the best for the outfit, but I also do understand the "I didn't find anything yet", lol.
And like that skirt, really really like it, versatile, soft and strong while fragile!

And maybe a small waist belt would be great~

Can't wait to see you again ;o;

I love, love, love the top. The sleeve details and texture on the body are simply amazing. I wonder how this same top might look paired with just this skirt or something similar, no jacket, visible tights, etc.

It just seems like a shame to cover up those crocheted sleeves with a jacket! With the Anna Sui skirt, I also think you could accomplish the same idea you had with the tights, that is, recalling similar patterns.

I agree about the jacket, I like the outfit better without it. And I agree about the shoes, heels would be adorable but I know you didn't have anything. But I really love the tops detail and that skirt is so cute!
Anyway... The only thing I feel I really have any right to say is your hair is maaaaaaarvelous, darling!

I knowww it's been a long time! I only really socialize once or twice a week, so we've got to schedule ourselves some little time :) Also I tried a waist belt but because of the way the embroidery of the shirt sort of cuts at the waist and then the under layer goes longer, it just didn't really work D:

I don't think the bubble skirt would go at all with the top, for having seen both IRL. Maybe if the top was cream!

Oh my, my curls had been affected by the static by then, haha, but thanks!

And yeah girls it may seem like a shame, but you would have done the same :P The temperature with winds and humidex factor is -26 today and it was even colder saturday! You just can't heat the places up when it's humid like that. I even would have worn jeans instead of a skirt if I had had high heeled oxfords like I wanted to, and indeed, my feet were frozen all day .__. I'm excited for NYC in hopes that it is as warm as it was last time! *__*

Ah, that's too bad. I know you're limited to what's in the boutique, but for some reason, I just see this top working with a long skirt or layered on top of a maxi dress. Perhaps like these:

Yeah, maybe, but the sleeves are big enough that I'd want them to be the only voluminous part of an outfit. Unless I'm going for medieval style-flared sleeves long silhouette haha :P

Yes it's been a long time.
And soon I won't be able to go out on week-end as much as I used to do (even if I work or not) because of my class ;__;

And totally understand about the shirt/skirt cut with the belt.

mmmm black

yah, this is good because the details keep it in touch with the designers purpose, and doesn't stray into a more dark side.

I feel like something is missing myself, dunno what could make it better unsure about leather. I don't like how the jacket hides the details the top has on the arms, though.

Shoes are ok cuz of the cutesy/feminine side of this, but yah heels would be nice.

necklace was a nice touch actually. Woulda preferred a more flowy voluminous skirt.
